Turkey Institute is pleased to invite you to a very timely panel discussion on Turkey’s relations with the West. Guest speakers, Mr Bill Park, Senior Lecturer in the Defense Studies Department, King’s College, Dr Ayla Göl, Reader in International Politics at Aberytswyth University, and veteran journalist Kerim Balci, Editor-in-Chief of Turkish Review Journal, are long-standing observers of Turkey and its relations with other regional and international actors.

Speakers Biography

Bill Park

Visiting Research Fellow in the Defense Studies Department, King's College

Bill Park is a Visiting Research Fellow in the Defence Studies Department. He has extensively written on a range of Turkish foreign policy issues, its domestic Kurdish issue, the Fethullah Gulen movement, and the Ergenekon affair.

Dr Ayla Gol

Reader in International Politics, Aberytswyth University

Dr Ayla Gol is a Senior Lecturer in International Politics. She is the author of 'Turkey Facing East: Islam, Modernity & Foreign Policy'.

Kerim Balci

Editor of Turkish Review & Turkey Institute - Project Coordinator

Kerim Balci is a former columnist with Zaman Daily, a newspaper closed down by the Turkish government. He regularly contributes to Turkey Institute.
